Evaluation

Book Cover Design-Evaluation

How I felt about the project at first
At the start of this project I felt a little unconfident with using photoshop on the apple mac computers because I didn't have much experience with using apple mac computers. However I gave it a try anyway and thanks to doing this project I have more confidence in using apple mac computers and I also have a better understanding of photoshop and how to edit photos and create effects that I like.

Research
When I conducted the research I had a little difficulty conducting research because I find great difficulty  with finding work by my favourite artists that I like on the internet due to incorrect information & duplicates by other artists which weren't created by the actual artist. So I had great difficulty conducting the research, unfortunately.

Creating the book cover design
I enjoyed getting creative with designing the book cover because I loved experimenting with the different tools and styles plus I learnt how to create these effects and now I feel confident enough to do this again on photoshop.

Annotation
The annotation was somewhat easy to put down in my post however I didn't do the annotation at the same time as importing the screenshots which is where I went wrong & I didn't think the annotation through very well. So next time I will do the annotation at the same time as the screenshots so I won't struggle with future blog posts.

My photoshop edit/ Front cover design

Front cover design

This post is to show what I have done for my book cover design & other samples that I have created in photoshop.

This image of me was taken via the apple mac application "photo booth". I took this photo for my front cover design.

This is the same image where I added the grayscale effect and I flipped the image to get rid of the mirrored reflection effect. I did these adjustments on the apple mac application "photoshop".

This is a screenshot of the edited image and an image that I have chosen for my background.

This is the image that I chose for my background, I chose this image because it is associated with one of my favourite movies.

This is the finished result of the image for my front cover design. I pasted my image onto the background by duplicating the layer that was my image, then I pasted the layer onto my background layer, finally after I pasted the image onto the background I moved the image into the desired position on the background.

This is a screenshot of me opening the JPG file onto photoshop.

These are screenshots of me selecting the book cover design that I desire to open in photoshop.

This is a screenshot of the book cover design document that I opened up in photoshop.

this is a screenshot of selecting the crop tool.

This is a screenshot of me highlighting the whole image ready to crop down what I want to get rid of.

this is a screenshot of me cropping off the parts of the image that I don't want.

This is the end result of  the image after I used the crop tool.

This is a screenshot of me highlighting the "duplicate layer" option where I want to paste the image onto the front cover design document that I opened earlier.

This is a screenshot of the interactive box that popped up when I selected the "duplicate layer" option.

This is a screenshot of me changing the desired location of the duplicated layer.

This is a screenshot of the finished result, after I duplicated the layer I added text onto the cover.
